{"id":13775,"date":"2022-12-08T11:37:16","date_gmt":"2022-12-08T10:37:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.foyerglobalhealth.com\/?post_type=testimonialcpt&#038;p=13775"},"modified":"2026-01-13T14:23:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T13:23:22","slug":"elena-her-journey-to-maternity-care-in-australia","status":"publish","type":"testimonialcpt","link":"https:\/\/globalhealth.insurance\/testimonial\/elena-her-journey-to-maternity-care-in-australia\/","title":{"rendered":"Elena: her journey to maternity care in Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">My family and I arrived in Australia in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">Before leaving, we took out health insurance with Global Health, which seemed obvious to us with a young child, especially given that we wanted to expand our family during the course of our expatriation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">Our little Marianna was born in June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">I chose to give birth at Saint John of God Subiaco Hospital in Western Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">Medical care in Australia is of a very high standard but is quite expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">In total, between the maternity care and the anaesthetist&#8217;s fees, the bill came to $9250 AUD (about \u20ac6,000). Not to mention the AUD$6,000 (approx. \u20ac4,000) for my gynaecologist&#8217;s consultation that I had already paid for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">In May, I contacted the assistance platform, which took over contact with the hospital to organise the direct payment of my medical expenses. I didn&#8217;t have to pay anything!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">They also explained to me how to get reimbursed for my follow-up consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\">It&#8217;s really nice to have the proper support!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:51px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-info-darker-color has-text-color\"><em>* Out of respect for the medical confidentiality of the protagonists, the first names have been changed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:65px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My family and I arrived in Australia in 2016.
