Most of the infrastructure is very modern and the means of transport varied. We find all sorts of fares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Metro<\/strong>: in Tokyo, the price of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tokyometro.jp\/en\/ticket\/regular\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">metro tickets<\/a> differs according to the distance of the journey. You can expect to pay JPY 180, 210, 260, 300 or 330.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Train<\/strong>: in general, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/japan-train-tickets#Regular_Train_Tickets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">train journeys<\/a> cost JPY 20 per kilometre for short distances and JPY 10 per kilometre for long distances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shinkansen<\/strong>: to travel by shinkansen, it is necessary to reserve a seat. Reservation fees vary between 320, 520 and 720 yen, plus fares depending on the distance travelled. On average, a journey costs between JPY 800 and JPY 11,000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bus<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.introducingtokyo.com\/bus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">buses<\/a> are mainly used in the major cities.
